Thanks to the existing collaboration
between Fagerdala Event / Gustavsbergs Hamn AB and Jan Lundgren, it
was natural for the dress rehearsal for the jointly produced solo
recital “History of Piano Jazz” in the autumn of 2006 to be held
in the old “chapel” in the so-called Gula Byggningen in the
harbour at Gustavsberg. This building is historic in its own right,
being the oldest building of the Gustavsberg Porcelain Works and the
original head office from the foundation of the firm in 1826.
In 2005, the Jan Lundgren/Georg Riedel
duo, which has since established a reputation as a “classic”
partnership, held a highly successful première in the Gula
Byggningen with a programme entitled “Jazz, ballads and folk
melodies” which later resulted in a disc called “Lockrop”
[Call] – another favourite among music critics.
The dress rehearsal of the “History
of Piano Jazz” at Gustavsberg was also recorded by the legendary
balance engineer Gert Palmcrantz and the result was so satisfactory
that it is being released as the project’s official CD, sold
exclusively in conjunction with the “History of Piano Jazz”
recitals.

Gustavsberg Harbour is Stockholm’s
new meeting place for people and the arts – just 17 minutes from
downtown Stockholm.
In the historic and beautiful harbour
at Gustavsberg with its memories of the world-famous porcelain works
and its striking sunsets over the waters of the bay, we have created
a new meeting place for people and the arts. The harbour now houses
high-class restaurants and cafés, guest moorings, an art
gallery with a ceramics and glass expo, porcelain museum, studio
shop, antique dealers, hot-glass workshop, ceramics school, an open
ceramics studio making Lisa Larsson’s stoneware, some fifty craft
studios and a small-scale porcelain manufactory, several highly
competitive factory outlets including HPF, Villeroy & Boch,
Orrefors/KostaBoda and Fabriksbutiken Gustavsberg which sells
domestic items from Iittala, Höganäs, Rörstrand and
BodaNova, as well as other shops selling present articles, furniture
and home-design items.
Welcome to Gustavsberg Harbour – a
national centre for ceramics and glass, art and creativity. The
harbour is also fully equipped for conferences and other gatherings
with more than 100’000ft2 of indoor space for trade
fairs, exhibitions, congresses and suchlike all within easy reach of
Stockholm.
