Some writers, critics and jazz fans believe we have had the golden era
of jazz in the 1950´s and 60´s. But in this writer´s opinion we are now
in another golden age, one in which the pianist and the piano trio are
in the forefront of this new golden era.
One of the foremost pianists of this new era is playing on the
recording you are about to play or maybe listening to at this very
time. His name is Jan Lundgren and he is Swedish, this is his 6th
recording for Marshmallow and has toured twice in Japan in 2002 and
2003, and jazz fans there will get a chance to see him yet again in
late 2006 when he tours with his trio, the tour arranged by Mr. Johfu
will be of 9 concerts.
This latest Marshmallow CD was recorded in New York City in one of
that city´s most famous studios, Nola´s Penthouse, where in the past
many famous recordings were made.
