“Blue Lights” is the fourth CD with Jan Lundgren, Jesper Lundgaard and Alex Riel for Marshmallow Records. But in fact it is the trio´s fifth album. Jan Lundgren´s debut CD “Conclusion” on Swedish Four Leaf Clover Records was their first. And they seem to get better and better all the time! The three very skilful musicians get together in Copenhagen, Denmark, a day ahead of the recording to work out the arrangements and to rehearse the music, and once they get into the SUN studio everything works very smoothly. Very seldom more than one take is required.

…..During the years Jan has played with almost everybody in Sweden and Europe. A lot of Americans have also had the pleasure of having Jan at the piano…..Jan Lundgren is today considered one of Sweden´s greatest – some say “THE greatest” – piano players of all times. Among numerous awards two are to be mentioned here, “The Golden Record” for the best album of 1996, “Jan Lundgren plays Swedish Standards”, and “The Swing Journal” of Japan, “Top 10 Readers Poll”, which voted him “One of The Best Pianists 2002”

…..With the help of Henry Manners who composed the melody, the trio ends the “Blue Lights” album by saying We Could Make Such Beautiful Music. And they do, indeed!
